What if I told you there is a Civil War era home for sale, completely renovated by a local home builder, right here in Concord, NC?

As a long time resident of Concord, I’ve driven by this home a million times while growing up, and throughout my real estate career…and never even noticed it. Until a few years ago when the owners of Niblock Development Corporation purchased and extensively renovated it. It is called the Moss Morris House at Olde Homestead.

Niblock did a TON of work, including replacing windows, siding, roofing, HVAC, wiring, adding a structured wiring panel for low voltage wiring, updating the plumbing, adding a tankless water heater, updating with spray foam insulation, adding an engineered foundation support system and much more.

Estimated to have been built sometime between 1830 and 1840, this home has lots of original features that were carefully preserved in its restoration from 2021. The original bedrooms were all upstairs, so they added a main floor primary bedroom, bathroom and garage. The kitchen was updated with new cabinets, GE Cafe Professional Series appliances in while with gold hardware including  6 burner dual fuel freestanding range, matching refrigerator (included in sale). Being used as model home for the past couple of years, of course, Niblock did it up right, so the decorator window treatments to remain.
Upstairs there is a bonus room with exposed beam vaulted ceiling and fireplace, a guest bedroom, and a full bathroom. There are both front and back staircases for convenience.
The home has a circular driveway and sits on a one acre lot bordered by mature trees for lots of privacy. Overlooking the back yard, there is a hardscape patio with a fire pit. A repurposed well house offers additional storage and a quaint overhang area, conveniently situated beside the patio.
Included in the sale will be a 1 year systems warranty through 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. Current incentives include $3,000 toward purchaser’s closing costs.
This lovely property is for sale, as of the writing of this article. If you’re interested in more details, or in seeing this home in person, I’d be happy to show you around.
